I was having breakfast at the Pig 'n Pancake and my attention was caught by an ethereal energy emanating from the boy at the table beside me. I was reminded of the Flemish Masters who portrayed the Virgin Mary and Jesus in contemporary clothes everyday settings. The colours in Flemish Master paintings are pure and vibrant. I used Flemish painting techniques to create this effect in my painting.
