In this work, the "White Canoe" acts as a vessel for a healing inquiry. I am observing the intersection of my own mnemonic shadows from China and the Pacific Northwest landscape that my descendants will call home. This formal overlap is where I test the possibility of cultural reconciliation. I am not providing a final answer to identity, but rather creating a "sensory buffer zone." The figures remain in a state of silent passing, yet the act of painting them into the same frame is an attempt to soften the friction of migration. I leave this site open for the next generation, offering them a space to navigate their own hybridity within the quiet resonance of these two histories.
