“Counterpoint” originates from a musical term, describing how distinct melodic lines maintain independence while intertwining and resonating to form harmony.
This exhibition brings together the works of Echo Xie and Leting Cai, two artists who approach creation through different materials and modes of perception, each exploring inner experience, cultural identity, and the language of materials in their practices.
Echo Xie centers her experimental, multisensory practice on painting and installation, combining sensory elements, materials, and light to investigate the interplay between perception, emotion, and the subconscious. Through layered sensory encounters, she invites viewers to reflect on their inner responses and emotional resonance.
Leting Cai engages in cross-disciplinary practices grounded in sculpture and fiber-based creation. Her work investigates the interconnectedness of material, culture, and gendered ways of knowing through crocheting, metalworks, and traditional craft techniques. Cai’s practice initiates layered dialogues among cultural narratives, acts of making, and structural systems.
Beyond presenting their individual works, this exhibition highlights a shared experimental process in which both artists merge elements of their respective practices, creating an open, unscripted dialogue at the intersection of material, perception, and space.

“对位”（Counterpoint）源自音乐术语，
指不同旋律在保持独立的同时，
彼此交织、呼应，形成和声。
本次展览汇集谢影与蔡乐婷的创作，
两位艺术家以不同媒材与感知方式出发，
在各自的实践中探讨内在体验、文化认同与材质语言。
谢影以多感官媒材的实验性创作为核心，
结合绘画与装置，
通过感官元素、材质与光影的融合，
探讨感知、情绪与潜意识的关系，
在多重感知体验中，
引发观者对内在感受的回应与思考。
蔡乐婷以雕塑与纤维艺术的跨媒介创作为实践，
结合编织、金属与传统工艺，
探索材质、文化与性别认知的关系，
在手工与观念的交错中，
激发文化、制造与社会的多重对话。
本次展览不仅呈现两位艺术家的独立作品，
更以融合彼此创作属性的实验方式，
在媒介与感知的交汇中，
激发未被预设的对话与共鸣。
