Exhibition: Paintings by Dongming Xie

Lipont Gallery has hand picked seven gorgeous acrylic paintings by Dongming Xie for collectors in Vancouver. Xie is a professor at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. He entered the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau to capture the people and the pristine, ethereal and enigmatic atmosphere on his canvases.
“Dongming Xie possesses great knowledge about oil paintings and related cultural and historical backgrounds and can be said to be a man with great artistic accomplishments. And because of that, he has a precise control over his creations – strong yet not excessive strokes, bright yet not flashy colors. This is a direct result of his decade-long accumulation. His artistic goals go beyond reality with its strong symbolic meanings and romantic atmosphere.”

温哥华力邦美术馆为温哥华的藏家和观众精选了七幅画家谢东明的绘画作品在春节期间展出。此系列作品均在近几年内完成，题材均是世界之巅西藏的人物，呈现的是画家纯粹的情怀与对现代文明的探寻。
谢东明是中央美术学院油画系教授、博士生导师，“他对油画知识和相关的文化历史知识，有着极为深入的认识与思考，是一个非常有艺术修养的人。他的笔触强烈却不过分，色彩鲜明而不艳俗。作为一个理想主义者，他的艺术追求是超越现实的。所以他的艺术，从形态上可以放在写实绘画里，但在某种意义上则是超现实的、带有象征意味和浪漫主义气息的。他的作品不是那种简单的、外在的‘漂亮’，而是一种更深层次的、极有力度的‘美’，富含质朴的力量。”
谢东明的作品被以下机构收藏： 中央美术学院美术馆，山东省美术馆，北京松美术馆，中国外交部，大都美术馆，青海省人民大会堂
