This series of cityscape paintings by Sandra MacKay are about isolation relating to COVID-19.
Sandra Yuen MacKay is a Vancouver-based visual artist and writer. Her genres include florals, cityscapes and abstracts. Her art practice has always been a way to express her personal voice and communicate emotion, perceptions and ideas. She attended Emily Carr College of Art and Design, earned a Fine Arts Diploma from Langara College and Bachelor of Arts in art history from the University of British Columbia. Sandra was the recipient of the Courage to Come Back Award and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for overcoming severe adversity and giving back to the community to become an artist, writer and speaker on mental health issues. She is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her artwork is in the VGH/UBC Hospital Foundation collection and private collections in North America.
