Jolayne Devente
Raised in North Vancouver, Jolayne Devente has a special connection to the West coast landscape. Jolayne’s youthful explorations repeatedly drew her into the forest that was just beyond her back door. Tall cedars protected and camouflaged a rich West Coast creek habitat that gradually became home to discarded shopping carts and cast-off building materials. These invitations for imagery were repeatedly extended to Jolayne. Her acrylic impressions both refresh and reflect the viewer’s perspective “Don’t let something out of the norm get in the way of a great painting”.
