Ms. Hong Shi, living and working in Vancouver Canada, was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu, China and grew up in the ancient city of Xi’an, China. The aura of the Jiangnan water town and the cultural heritage of the ancient city of Xi’an have made her a master of traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. She has created over two hundred pieces of works that depict the beauty of nature. Hongshi Chinese Painting and Calligraphy (Volume 1) was published by Shaanxi People’s Fine Arts Publishing House in 2008. Hongshi Chinese Painting and Calligraphy (Volume 2) was published by People’s Fine Arts Publishing House in 2016. She had exhibitions in New York, Vancouver, and Xi’an.
鸿石先生，原籍江苏无锡，成长于古城西安。书，卓而不群，独树一帜；画，激情饱满，融合中西。江南水乡的灵气和古城文化的底蕴，使得鸿石先生成为中国书画艺术的集大成者，是旅居北美的国际知名书画家。
鸿石先生书画兼工，书法飘逸灵秀，气势雄浑，柔中带韧，笔力流畅，充满大气豪放。鸿石先生将西画的透视关系、色彩处理手法和构图审美意识，自然地融入了中国画，推动了中国画的创新发展。创作了200余件反映自然现实的精品力作。《鸿石中国书画》（卷一），陕西人民美术出版社2008年出版发行；《鸿石中国书画》（卷二）中国人民美术出版社2016年出版发行。先后在美国纽约、加拿大温哥华、中国西安等地举办了多届个人书画展。鸿石先生是中国传统书画艺术走向世界的先行者和实践者，利用书画教学、作品汇展、著书立说等形式，使中国书画艺术走出了国门、走向了世界。
